Equipment

  • Shot glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Jigger or Measuring Tool
  • Ice cube tray (if using ice)

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • ½ ounce grenadine
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Chill the Glass: Start by chilling your shot glass to keep your Tequila Sunrise Shot nice and cold.
  • Pour the Tequila: Fill the shot glass with the tequila. For the best results, use a good quality tequila that you enjoy drinking.
  • Add Orange Juice: Carefully add the orange juice over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of the tequila. This creates a beautiful layered effect.
  • Drizzle Grenadine: Gently pour the grenadine over the back of a spoon again, letting it slowly sink and settle at the bottom. This will create the signature sunrise gradient.
  • Serve Immediately: Serve the shot right away to keep the layers distinct and the flavors fresh.
