Cuisine Mexican
Tall glass (Highball or Collins glass works great)
Bar spoon or regular spoon for stirring
Measuring jigger for precise pouring
- 2 oz Tequila Blanco or Silver
- 4 oz Orange Juice
- 1 oz Grenadine
- Ice cubes
- Orange slices and cherries for garnish
Step-by-Step Instructions
Fill the glass with ice: Take a tall glass and fill it up with ice cubes to the top. This will help keep the drink nice and chilled.
Pour the tequila and orange juice: Add 2 oz of tequila to the glass first, followed by 4 oz of orange juice. Stir gently to mix them together.
Slowly add grenadine: Here's where the magic happens. Slowly pour 1 oz of grenadine down the side of the glass. Since grenadine is heavier, it will sink to the bottom, creating that beautiful “sunset” effect.
Garnish: Add a slice of orange and a cherry on top for garnish. Not only does it look good, but the citrus adds a nice aromatic touch.
Enjoy!: Sip and enjoy the layered flavors of sweet grenadine and zesty orange juice mixed with smooth tequila. It’s the perfect balance of refreshing and sweet.
