Chill your shot glass. Before anything else, place your shot glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill it while you prepare the cocktail. This ensures your shot is cold and refreshing.
Prepare your shaker. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Add Malibu and pineapple juice. Pour in the Malibu Coconut Rum and pineapple juice into the shaker. The tropical flavors will mix together beautifully.
Shake well. Give the shaker a good shake for about 10-15 seconds until the mixture is nicely chilled.
Pour into shot glass. Discard the ice from the shot glass (if you chilled it that way), then carefully strain the mixture into the glass.
Add grenadine. Slowly pour the grenadine down the side of the glass. It will sink to the bottom, creating a layered look.
Garnish and serve. Add a pineapple wedge or maraschino cherry on top for that final touch of tropical goodness, if you like.
