Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1-2 slices of fresh jalapeno adjust based on your heat preference
  • Coarse salt for rimming the glass
  • Ice
  • Lime wheel and additional jalapeno slices for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Rim the Glass: Start by running a lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it. Dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt and set the glass aside.
  • Prepare the Jalapeno: Place the jalapeno slices into your cocktail shaker. If you prefer a milder drink, remove the seeds before adding.
  • Muddle: Use a muddler to crush the jalapeno slices gently. This will help release their spicy and flavorful oils.
  • Add Ingredients: Fill the shaker halfway with ice. Pour in the tequila, fresh lime juice, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), and simple syrup.
  • Shake: Secure the lid on the shaker and give it a good shake for about 15-20 seconds. This will ensure all the flavors mix well and the drink gets chilled.
  • Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish: Decorate your cocktail with a lime wheel and some extra jalapeno slices.
  • Enjoy: Sip on your spicy creation and relish the layers of flavors!
