Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz tequila silver or reposado
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz honey syrup equal parts honey and water
  • 1 fresh fig quartered
  • ½ oz orange liqueur like Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • Ice
  • Salt for rimming the glass, optional
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Fig slice for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the honey syrup: In a small saucepan, combine equal parts honey and water. Heat gently, stirring until the honey is fully dissolved into the water. Let it cool to room temperature.
  • Rim the glass (optional): Run a lime wedge around the rim of your margarita glass, then dip the rim into a plate of salt to coat.
  • Muddle the fig: In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh fig quarters and muddle them until they release their juices.
  • Add the liquids: Into the shaker, pour in the tequila, lime juice, honey syrup, and orange liqueur. Fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake it up: Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
  • Strain and serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish: Add a lime wedge and a slice of fig to the edge of the glass for a polished finish.
  • Enjoy: Take a moment to admire your handiwork before taking your first refreshing sip!
