Equipment

  • Large pitcher
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Stirring spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Glasses for serving

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of red wine 750ml
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur such as Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1 cup fresh apple cider
  • 1 apple thinly sliced
  • 1 pear thinly sliced
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup optional, for sweetness
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda for a fizzy touch
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Fruit:

  • Wash and thinly slice the apple, pear, and orange. You can leave the skin on for extra color and texture.

Combine Ingredients:

  • In a large pitcher, combine the sliced fruit, fresh cranberries, and cinnamon sticks.
  • Pour in the red wine, brandy, and orange liqueur. Add the apple cider and stir gently to combine.

Sweeten (Optional):

  • If you prefer your sangria on the sweeter side, add the honey or maple syrup at this stage. Stir until it's fully dissolved.

Chill:

  • Cover the pitcher and refrigerate the sangria for at least 2-4 hours, preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.

Serve:

  • When you’re ready to serve, give the sangria a good stir. Fill glasses halfway with ice cubes and pour the sangria over the ice.
  • Top off each glass with a splash of sparkling water or club soda for a refreshing, fizzy finish.
