Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler or a spoon
  • Strainer
  • Glass (margarita or your choice)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries plus a few extra for garnish
  • 2 oz tequila I prefer silver for its clean taste
  • 1 oz triple sec or any orange liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup adjust to your taste
  • Ice
  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glass optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass: If you want a salted or sugared rim, rub a lime wedge around the edge of your glass and dip it into a plate of salt or sugar.
  • Muddle the Blueberries: In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh blueberries. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush them gently, releasing their juices.
  • Add the Liquids: Pour in the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup into the shaker.
  • Add Ice: Fill the shaker with ice, covering the liquid.
  • Shake It Up: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This helps mix everything thoroughly and chills the cocktail.
  • Strain: Use a strainer to pour the mixture into your prepared glass. You can choose to serve it over fresh ice or straight up, depending on your preference.
  • Garnish and Serve: Top off your margarita with a few whole blueberries for a pop of color. Enjoy your refreshing Blueberry Margarita!
