Slotted spoon
Paper towels
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts trimmed and halved
- 6 slices of bacon chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures your Brussels sprouts cook evenly and get perfectly crispy.
Prep the Brussels Sprouts: Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and then halve them. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Cook the Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until it’s crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Toss with Oil and Seasonings: Drizzle the Brussels sprouts with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Give them a good toss to make sure they’re evenly coated.
Add Maple Syrup: Add the cooked bacon and maple syrup to the Brussels sprouts. Toss again to combine.
Roast the Brussels Sprouts: Spread the Brussels sprouts out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Stir halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Serve Immediately: Once they’re done roasting, serve the Brussels sprouts hot. Enjoy the sweet and savory flavors together!
