Prepare Your Glass: Grab a tall glass, and fill it with ice cubes to keep things nice and cold. I like using a highball glass for this drink.
Pour the Tequila: Add 2 oz of tequila over the ice. The tequila is the backbone of this cocktail, so make sure to use a good-quality one like a blanco tequila for the best flavor.
Squeeze in the Lime: Squeeze the juice of one fresh lime directly into the glass. If you're feeling fancy, rub the lime wedge around the rim of the glass before dropping it in.
Add the Salt (Optional): This step is totally up to you. A tiny pinch of salt can elevate the flavors and give your Batanga Float a bit of extra flair.
Pour the Cola: Slowly pour the Mexican cola into the glass, filling it about 3/4 of the way. Be careful not to pour too quickly; we don’t want the fizz to overflow.
Add the Ice Cream: Scoop one generous spoonful of vanilla ice cream and drop it right on top. The ice cream will start to melt into the drink, creating that float effect we love.
Garnish and Serve: Add a lime wedge on the rim, give it a light stir, and enjoy your Batanga Float cocktail. You can sip it as-is or with a straw—it’s all about preference.
