Best Ways to Customize Your Margarita

There’s no hard and fast rule when it comes to margaritas, and that’s part of the fun! If you like your drink a little sweeter, add more simple syrup. Want more tartness? Squeeze in some extra lime juice. You can also experiment with different berries, like blackberries or strawberries, for a fruity twist on the classic.

Pairing Ideas for Your Raspberry Margarita

This cocktail pairs perfectly with light and fresh dishes like ceviche, grilled shrimp, or a fresh salad with avocado. The sweet and tangy flavor of the margarita complements the bright, citrusy flavors in these dishes. If you’re looking to serve it at a party, some chips and guacamole or a cheese board with spicy accents would be fantastic pairings as well.

Equipment

  • Margarita Glass
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Muddler
  • Fine mesh strainer (optional, for smoother texture)
  • Measuring jigger (for precise measurements)
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz triple sec orange liqueur
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup adjust to taste
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt for rimming the glass
  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Extra raspberries for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass: Begin by rimming your glass with salt. Rub a lime wedge along the rim of your margarita glass, then dip it into salt to coat the edge. Set it aside for later.
  • Blend the Raspberries: In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh raspberries until they release their juice. If you prefer a smoother drink, you can strain the seeds using a fine mesh strainer.
  • Add the Liquids: Pour in the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup over the muddled raspberries. Give it a good shake to mix everything together. If you want it extra cold, shake with ice cubes.
  • Shake It Up: Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the drink thoroughly.
  • Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared margarita glass over fresh ice.
  • Garnish: Add a lime wedge and a couple of raspberries to the rim for that final touch.
  • Now, sit back and enjoy the burst of flavors in every sip!
