Halloween Brain Jello Mold Recipe
Equipment
- Brain-shaped mold
- Large mixing bowl
- Measuring cups
- Stirring spoon
- Non-stick spray
Ingredients
- 6 ounces of strawberry Jello mix or any red flavor
- 3 cups boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 can 12 ounces evaporated milk
- Food coloring red and blue for added effect
- Non-stick spray
Instructions
- Prepare the Mold
- Coat the inside of the brain mold with a thin layer of non-stick spray. Make sure to get all the crevices. This will make it easy to remove the jello later.
- Mix the Jello
- In a large mixing bowl, pour in the Jello mix and add 3 cups of boiling water. Stir until the Jello is completely dissolved.
- Add Cold Water
- Pour in 1 cup of cold water to the Jello mixture. Stir until well mixed.
- Incorporate Evaporated Milk
- Slowly add the evaporated milk to the Jello mixture while stirring. This will give the Jello a milky, brain-like texture.
- The Special Effect
- Add a few drops of red and blue food coloring to create veins and give the brain a more realistic appearance. Mix gently.
- Pour into Mold
- Carefully pour the Jello mixture into the prepared brain mold. Make sure it settles evenly.
- Chill
- Place the mold in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or until the Jello is firmly set.
- Unmold the Brain
- To do this, gently separate the edges of the Jello from the mold. Flip it onto a serving plate and give it a light shake to release the Jello brain.
