Tips for Perfect Results

Choosing the Right Mushrooms: I recommend using large white mushrooms because they are easy to stuff and hold up well during baking. Portobello mushrooms can also work if you prefer a meatier texture and bigger serving sizes.

Make Ahead and Storage: Stuffed mushrooms can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until you’re ready to bake them. You can also freeze them after stuffing. Just be sure to bake them a bit longer when you’re ready to cook them to ensure they're heated all the way through.

Ingredients
  

  • 20 large white mushrooms
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This way, it’ll be hot and ready for our stuffed mushrooms.
  • Clean the Mushrooms: Gently clean your mushrooms with a damp cloth. Remove the stems and set both caps and stems aside.
  • Prepare the Stuffing: Finely chop the mushroom stems. In a bowl, mix chopped mushroom stems, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, and softened cream cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if you like a bit of heat.
  • Stuff the Caps: Spoon a generous amount of the stuffing mixture into each mushroom cap.
  • Arrange on a Baking Sheet: Place the stuffed mushroom caps on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top of each mushroom.
  • Bake: Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
  • Serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm as an appetizer or a delightful side dish.
